The membership warehouse giant has become a tentpole in American life, offering shoppers items ranging from groceries to electronics to gold bars.
The company offers two levels of memberships to both individuals and businesses.
Costco raised membership prices in September for the first time since 2017. The company also started rolling out scanners at warehouses this year, requiring members to scan their membership cards to enter some stores.
Costco generated $4.6 billion in membership fees from nearly 128 million members, according to the company’s 2023 Annual Report.
