Police search for man who broke into Olathe business, stole cash, merchandise

OLATHE, Kan. (KCTV) – Police continue to search for a man who broke into an Olathe business overnight and made off with cash and merchandise from the store.

The Olathe, Kansas, Police Department says that around 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 19, emergency crews were called to the area of E. Santa Fe St. and N Ridgeview Rd. with reports of a robbery.

When first responders arrived, they said they found an unknown suspect forced their way into a local business, grabbed money from the cash register and ran from the store before they arrived.

Law enforcement officials noted that a thorough search of the neighborhood was held, however, the suspect remains on the loose. He was described as a white man with blue eyes who was wearing a gray hoodie, black mask, black puffy coat, jeans and dark shoes.

Investigators said the suspect left with an undisclosed amount of cash as well as merchandise. A weapon was not seen during the incident.

As of 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, law enforcement officials said the suspect remains at large as the investigation continues. Anyone with information about the crime should report it to Olathe Police at 913-971-6363.
