COCONUT CREEK, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Evacuations are underway just before 8 p.m. Wednesday as a result of a gas leak at a popular area shopping center and restaurant complex.

Coconut Creek Fire Rescue responded to the scene at The Promenade at Coconut Creek at 4449 Lyons Road a short time ago. A gas leak was found and rescuers determined that at least part of the center required evacuations. We have learned those evacuations are underway now. It is not believed anyone was injured.

We do not know specifically where the leak is — whether it’s in a building, under the street, or in another location. We also do not yet know the size of the leak — whether it’s a small pipe that ruptured or possibly a valve that has become inoperable. We will update once we learn more.

The Promenade features restaurants like World Of Beer, Cheesecake Factory, Bar Louie and Cold Stone. Stores include Guitar Center, Sephora, and Orange Theory Fitness. Check back for more.
