Crews respond to fire at small business in Omaha

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Omaha Fire Department crews fought a fire at a small business on Wednesday.

OFD crews were dispatched to North 16th and Read streets shortly before noon.

The fire happened at the building that houses Nebraska Gutter Supplies.

Workers called the fire in, according to the report. Crews found that the fire involved boxes of raw material.

OFD has ruled the fire as accidental, due to combustible material being too close to a heater.

No one was hurt in the incident and the fire was contained in under 30 minutes, OFD says.

Damage is estimated at about $13,000.
