Norwegian Cruise Line canceled around five months of cruises across three ships.

The cruise line scrapped sailings between November 2025 and April 2026 on its Norwegian Dawn, Norwegian Star and Norwegian Jewel vessels. The following dates were impacted:

  • Norwegian Dawn: Nov. 2, 2025, through and including April 12, 2026
  • Norwegian Star: Nov. 20, 2025, through and including April 14, 2026
  • Norwegian Jewel: Nov. 23, 2025, through and including April 5, 2026

The line cited “fleet redeployment” as the reason for the changes in letters sent to passengers and travel partners on Thursday, which the company shared with USA TODAY.

“Occasionally, scheduled itineraries may need to be canceled, allowing us the opportunity to introduce enhanced voyages that accommodate strong guest demand and provide a more immersive experience,” the letters read. “While unfortunately cancelations may arise, please rest assured that we are always working hard to provide you with world-class cruise vacations to bucket-list destinations. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience or disappointment this cancelation may cause.”

Impacted guests will receive a full refund of their paid fare and a 10% future cruise credit.

The news comes after Norwegian canceled more than a dozen cruises on seven ships scheduled for 2025 earlier this year. Cruise cancellations are relatively rare, but can happen including for other reasons, such as full-ship charters or when a vessel needs to go to dry dock.
