Students, vendors fundraise for Dollar Bay Travel Club

DOLLAR BAY, Mich. (WLUC) – The annual Dollar Bay Schools craft fair and pancake breakfast raised money Saturday to help send kids to other parts of the world.

This event fundraises for the Dollar Bay Travel Club. The club helps students get out and experience different cultures. Last year the club traveled to the Dominican Republic. In 2026, they aim to visit Puerto Rico and Panama.

Money raised from concessions, raffles and vendor registration goes to the club-members of which also help to run the fundraiser.

Kalila Denotto, a Travel Club member who went to the Dominican Republic last year, says the trips aren’t the only enlightening part of the club.

“Like even just working for the fundraising, that’s also just an amazing experience to have because it also helps with real-world experience to work,” Denotto said. ‘So, it’s beneficial for us and for like us personally as well.”

This is an annual fundraiser for the group. The organization says it benefits both the students and the vendors involved.
