Shiloh Church’s Holiday Bazaar celebrates 82 years of festive shopping and community cheer
DAYTON, Ohio (WKEF) — Every year, since 1942, Shiloh Church United Church of Christ, hosts its Holiday Bazaar, a shopping event to help ring in the holidays the weekend before Thanksgiving.
Community members engage in gift shopping, enjoying festive foods, and treats and entering raffles for an exciting selection of prizes.
Although the event is not new to the city, Shiloh Church recently began hosting local vendors, highlighting the talents of leaders within the Dayton community for two years.
Vendors at the Holiday Bazaar bring high-quality, handcrafted items as well as festive foods and homemade treats including a lunch café, candy, pies and more to emphasize the joy the holidays has to offer.
Senior Pastor Rev. Jay McMillen emphasized the importance of hosting this event.
“It’s all about the joy that the holiday brings, being with family and friends and getting prepared for this awesome holiday season,” said McMillen.
Shiloh Church has been serving the community for over 170 years and those with the church said they hope to continue Holiday Bazaar for 100 more. They said the annual event is great for people of all ages to enjoy the jubilation that the holiday season brings.
“This event represents who we are at Shiloh Church, United Church of Christ, where we live the word and serve the world,” McMillen said.
