Former eOne and Pathé UK marketing executive Chris Besseling has joined True Brit Entertainment, the UK distribution company run by Zygi Kamasa.

Besseling began his career at the Metrodome, BFI, and Optimum Releasing. Since then, he has been responsible for launching over 200 films at the UK and Irish box office. During his time at eOne and Pathé, he spearheaded the theatrical campaigns for a wide array of titles, including 1917, Suffragette, Green Book, Selma, Dungeons & Dragons: Honour Amongst Thieves, Wild Rose, The Death of Stalin, The Woman King, Stan & Ollie, Clifford The Big Red Dog, The House With A Clock In Its Walls, Blinded By the Light and I, Tonya.
Kamasa today described Besseling as the “perfect addition” to the True Brit Entertainment team.
“He’s been marketing and releasing theatrical movies for over 20 years in the UK and especially showed at eOne how successful marketing campaigns can deliver some incredible theatrical results. Our ambition at True Brit Entertainment is to really produce some special British films and back them with original and bold marketing campaigns and Chris is the ideal person to deliver that,” Kamasa said.
Besseling added: “I am delighted to be working with Zygi and the team to realize True Brit Entertainment’s vision and to continue flying the flag for British independent cinema. Zygi’s achievements in the sector speak for themselves – we share opinions on how film distribution and marketing should be approached in the current media climate, and we share optimism and a commitment to serving audiences with great British films on the big screen. With an increasing number of British box office success stories in recent months, it’s an exciting time to be entering the marketplace. Reuniting with the likes of Gurinder Chadha on ‘Christmas Karma’ and Craig Roberts on ‘The Scurry’, it’s a privilege to be collaborating with some of the boldest and most exciting voices in British cinema and to be bringing a wonderfully diverse, vital and vibrant slate of stories to the big screen”.
