Wet weather could cause travel issues this week
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – Large storm system to impact eastern half of the country ahead of holiday travel.
A First Alert Weather Day remains in effect for Wednesday and Thursday (Thanksgiving Day) due to a large storm system that could impact travel across parts of the country.
EARLY WEEK
A mild Monday to start of the week with temperatures expected to top off in the upper 60s to near 70 this afternoon. There’s no severe weather threat though we could see a few downpours tonight as lows drop to near 40 by tomorrow morning.
Tomorrow will be cooler and partly cloudy with temperatures staying in the 50s and some spots not escaping the 40s in the afternoon. Tuesday night will be chilly with lows in the 30s by Wednesday morning.
FIRST ALERT WEATHER DAY
A large storm system will develop in the eastern half of the country late Wednesday and through Thanksgiving Day bringing widespread rain to the eastern third of the country including right here in Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky.
Wet roads, reduced visibility, and road spray can all be expected, but there is no severe weather threat to be concerned with. Rain should exit the Mid State by noon on Thursday, leaving behind some clouds and cooler air
Highs on Wednesday will be in the upper 50s to near 60 and we’ll drop back into the 40s to near 50 by Thursday.
