PFL World Championships: Dakota Ditcheva vs. Taila Santos
Dakota Ditcheva (13-0) has been with the PFL since 2022. The 26-year-old won the 2023 PFL Europe Women’s flyweight tournament with three stoppage victories. This year, she entered the PFL women’s flyweight tournament and has looked excellent in her run to the finals. She has ended each of her three fights in 2024 via first-round knockout.
Taila Santos (22-3) joined the PFL in 2024 after spending four years with the UFC, where she went 4-3. Santos fought for the UFC flyweight title in June 2022, dropping a split decision to Valentina Shevchenko in that contest. The 31-year-old Santos earned her spot in the PFL final with one submission and two decisions. She is coming off a decision over former UFC title challenger Liz Carmouche.
The early betting odds for this matchup favored Ditcheva (-250) over Santos (+205). Today, Ditcheva is listed as the -375 betting favorite, while Santos comes in as the +270 betting underdog.
PFL World Championships: Impa Kasanganay vs. Dovletdzhan Yagshimuradov
Last year’s light heavyweight tournament winner, Impa Kasanganay (18-4), is back in the finals of the 205-pound tournament this year. In 2023, Kasanganay defeated Josh Silveira to earn the light heavyweight tourney title. This year, Kasanganay and Silveira met in the semifinal round. Kasanganay picked up a unanimous decision in that contest. His other two wins in 2024 came via knockout.
Dovletdzhan Yagshimuradov (24-7-1) came to the PFL via Bellator in 2024. The 35-year-old opened his PFL season with a TKO and a decision win. In the tournament’s semifinal round, he faced 2022 light heavyweight tournament champion Rob Wilkinson, winning that contest via unanimous decision.
The early betting odds had Kasanganay listed at -170 and Yagshimuradov at +142. The betting line on this fight has shifted in favor of Yagshimuradov, who is still the betting underdog (+110) to Kasanganay (-130).
PFL World Championships: Brent Primus vs. Gadzhi Rabadanov
Former Bellator lightweight champion Brent Primus (14-3) is looking for his first PFL tournament championship. The 39-year-old opened his 2024 PFL run with submission wins over Bruno Miranda and Solomon Renfro. In the semifinal round, Primus negated the striking of Clay Collard to win a decision.
Gadzhi Rabadanov (22-4-1) was undefeated in Bellator (5-0) before he moved to the PFL in 2024. The 31-year-old remains on an unbeaten run with two decisions to open the lightweight tournament. He picked up his first stoppage under the PFL banner in the semis when he knocked out Michael Dufort.
Rabadanov was a massive -550 betting favorite over Primus in the early odds. Primus was a +410 betting underdog. Rabadanov has moved to -620 and Primus is now at +400 as fight night approaches.
PFL World Championships: Denis Goltsov vs. Oleg Popov
The PFL heavyweight world championship matchup sees last year’s runner-up, Denis Goltsov (34-8) looking to pick up his first title. Goltsov, who lost to Renan Ferreira in last year’s final, has been competing with the PFL since 2019. He has three knockouts in this year’s tournament, most recently stopping former UFC and Bellator competitor Timothy Johnson.
Oleg Popov (19-1) is in his first PFL season. He has a knockout and two decision wins this year. His most recent victory came against Linton Vassell via decision.
The early betting odds favored Goltsov (-162) over Popov (+136), however the fight is now a pick ‘em, with Goltsov at -115 and Popov at -105.
PFL World Championships: Brendan Loughnane vs. Timur Khizriev
Brendan Loughnane (30-5) was the winner of the 2022 PFL featherweight tournament. Last year, Loughnane failed to make the PFL playoffs. He bounced back this year with two TKOs and a decision to make it to the 145-pound PFL tournament final.
Timur Khizriev (17-0) is in his first year with PFL. The undefeated 29-year-old earned three decision victories on his way to the 2024 PFL World Championship final.
The current betting odds for this fight, which will serve as the main event on Friday’s fight card, have Khizriev as the -315 favorite over Loughnane, who is listed at +230.
PFL World Championships: Magomed Umalatov vs. Shamil Musaev
The welterweight championship fight on Friday’s card features Magomed Umalatov (17-0) vs. Shamil Musaev (19-0-1).
Visa issues have prevented Umalatov from competing in previous PFL championship finals. With the card in Saudi Arabia this year, that is not an issue for the undefeated fighter. Umalatov went 3-0 this season with two decisions and a submission.
The also unbeaten Musaev is in his first year with PFL. He picked up two knockouts and a decision on his way to Friday’s event.
The current betting odds for this scrap have Musaev as the -230 betting favorite over the +175 Umalatov.
