Here’s what to know ahead of Small Business Saturday to support Evansville shops
EVANSVILLE — For those in the city wanting to shop small after the big Thanksgiving and Black Friday rush, Small Business Saturday has the perfect setup.
The event started in 2010, and is aimed at celebrating small businesses in their communities.
Here’s what to know for shopping small in Evansville on Nov. 30.
Downtown Evansville
Small business in Downtown Evansville participate in Shop Small Saturday with specific hours from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some local shops may be open earlier and later.
Shoppers will be welcomed with bags, buttons and maps in front of 318 Main Street, while supplies last. There is also free street parking all around the downtown area.
Shop Small Passport
Shoppers can also participate in the Shop Small Passport while picking up gifts for loved ones, or a treat for themselves.
Ten local stores will be participating, offering a stamp to each shopper’s passport.
“Each stamp is one entry to win a gift card to a Downtown business,” according to the event info. “The more stamps a shopper receives on their passport, the more entries they will have to win Downtown Evansville e-Gift Cards.”

Evansville East Shop Hop
On the East Side of Evansville, eight businesses are setting up their Small Business Saturday with a chance for shoppers to win gift cards while also supporting local.
According to their event page, there $400 in local gift cards up for grabs.
Participating stores include:
- Tools 4 Teaching – 401 South Green River Road
- Solely You – 1304 South Green River Road
- Craftastic! – 1322 North Green River Road
- Rare Bird Gifts & Goods – 2605 Lincoln Ave.
- Haven & Haddie – 2809 Lincoln Ave.
- 728 Boutique – 5625 East Virginia St.
- Give a Dog a Bone – 5626 East Virginia St.
- Gelhausen Boutique – 735 South Green River Road
Individual shops running sales on Saturday
Not every shop is going to be a part of a big event Saturday connected with multiple other small shops, so shoppers will want to make sure to check in on their local favorites.
Shops like BlueStocking Social, a locally owned bookstore at 606 South Weinbach Ave. Suite B, are set up for shoppers on both Black Friday and Small Business Saturday.
Hours on Black Friday will be 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Small Business Saturday runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
AnnaLe’s Twice Chosen, located inside Washington Square Mall, is setting up for a similar event starting from noon to 4 p.m. on Black Friday and again from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Small Business Saturday.
There will be chances for 30% to 50% off new sample wedding dresses, as well as 500 new bridal gowns in stock.
