Today expected to be the busiest travel day at Bradley Airport
WINDSOR LOCKS, CT (WFSB) – Wednesday, Nov. 27, was expected to be one of the busiest travel days of the year at Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks.
Travelers were warned to prepare for heavy crowds, especially between 4 a.m. and 7 a.m., when the airport expected peak traffic.
Despite the rush, some passengers said they found the experience relatively smooth.
“It wasn’t hard at all. It’s been pretty fast. We got here about twenty minutes ago and it hasn’t been that bad,” said Willimantic resident Wilfredo Quinones.
Nationwide, the TSA projected to screen approximately 2.9 million passengers on Wednesday as millions were expected to take to the skies for the Thanksgiving holiday season.
Florida resident Betsy Dunn, who was flying home for the holidays, shared her positive experience.
“Our son brought us here at 4:30,” Dunn said. “We got here nice and early. Checked in at 5 and now we’re headed to the gate!”
Dunn also expressed satisfaction with her pre-TSA screening.
Travelers were advised to arrive early to accommodate potential delays and long lines.
