New specialty training facility opens in Holland
HOLLAND, MI – A specialty training facility for athletes and people of all fitness levels is now open in the Holland area.
PowerStrength Training Systems on Tuesday, Nov. 26 hosted an open house for people to check out its newly opened training facility at 779 96th Ave. in Holland.
The over 10,000-square-foot facility has four coaches on staff to train a wide range of clients and plans to hire more to fit future growth needs.
On the athletics side, PowerStrength helps student athletes from grade four to college level become faster, stronger and more confident in their respective sports.
The company also has an adult personal training program tailored to helping men and women in their 40s, 50s, and 60s, including people with lingering injuries, achieve their fitness goals.
“Really great trainers can coach that spectrum – that’s what we preach all the time,” PowerStrength Founder and Owner Mark Ehnis told MLive. “We’re about just getting a little bit better every single day and really just honing our craft to serve that.”
Each program is led by an expert trainer in a small-group environment, and programs are customized to each member’s goals, fitness level and experience level.
Ehnis said PowerStrength was approached last summer about opening in the greater Holland area. While the first prospect didn’t come to fruition, Ehnis said it inspired him to dig deeper to make PowerStrength Holland a reality.
“It really just fits our growth strategy of around the area we want to impact and create stronger individuals to lead stronger communities,” he said. “We had many people from Holland and the Hamilton/Zeeland area driving to our Jenison facility, so this was a natural next step.”
Construction of the Holland location was about a six-month period and came courtesy of Grand Rapids-based CopperRock Construction, which built all of PowerStrength’s facilities.
Founded in 2011, PowerStrength Training Systems has 34 coaches across its five locations in Holland, Jenison, Kentwood, Grand Rapids and Comstock Park.
