RISING UP: Several Drivers Climb World of Outlaws Late Model All-Time Wins List in 2024  | World of Outlaws

The World of Outlaws CASE Construction Equipment Late Models’ all-time wins list saw nine drivers add to their Series records this year. 

While all nine drivers were already on the prestigious wins list, each scored a milestone victory that added to their legacy with the World of Outlaws. 

Take a look at this year’s winners: 

Brandon Sheppard (Rank: 1 / Wins: 87): The New Berlin, IL driver reached the highest peak of the World of Outlaws Late Models with his record-setting fifth Series title. While his three Feature wins this year produced the least amount “B-Shepp” has scored en route to the championship, his triumphs at Thunderhill Raceway Park, Ponderosa Speedway and Deer Creek Speedway increased his lead atop the all-time wins list to 87 victories. 

Chris Madden (Rank: 6 / Wins: 39): After missing out on a near victory at Volusia Speedway Park in February, the Gray Court, SC driver found his time in Victory Lane in May with a green-to-checkered win at Raceway 7, then a 21-place climb to win the Connor Bobik Memorial at Marion Center Raceway. Health issues sidelined Madden’s run at a Series championship, but he had one more win up his sleeve, capturing the World of Outlaws World Finals finale at The Dirt Track at Charlotte. With the win, he overtook Rick Eckert for sixth on the all-time Series wins list. 

Bobby Pierce (Rank: 10 / Wins: 31): The Oakwood, IL driver matched his dominant drive from the previous year by winning 13 Feature races, including multiple crown jewels. Pierce won the Illini 100 at Farmer City Raceway, NAPA Gopher 50 at Deer Creek Speedway, Prairie Dirt Classic at Fairbury Speedway and USA Nationals at Cedar Lake Speedway. Amid that run, he joined Billy Moyer and Darrell Lanigan as the third driver to win six World of Outlaws Feature races consecutively. The “Smooth Operator” jumped to 10th on all-time wins list. 

Devin Moran (Rank: 20 / Wins: 13): The Dresden, OH driver has figured out how to start a season right at Volusia Speedway Park. Moran opened the 2024 season with a win at “The World’s Fastest Half-Mile” during Sunshine Nationals and then clinched the event’s title with a third-place finish the following night. “The Mailman” then delivered, again, in February, winning the final World of Outlaws Feature during Federated Auto Parts DIRTcar Nationals. The two wins move Moran up to 20th in the all-time standings – tied with Shannon Babb. 

Brian Shirley (Rank: 22 / Wins: 12): “Squirrel” came alive halfway through the World of Outlaws Late Models season when he earned his eighth career Series win at River Cities Speedway. Shirley, of Chatham, IL, then caught fire in the second half of the season earning four more Feature wins – one at Highland Speedway, two at Maquoketa Speedway and one at Rocket Raceway Park. The late-season success sent Shirley up to 22nd on the wins list – tied with Clint Smith. 

Ryan Gustin (Rank: 24 / Wins: 10): Joining Todd Cooney Racing ahead of the 2024 World of Outlaws season, Ryan Gustin had to build his team from scratch with new personnel and equipment – aside from tire specialist Noah Bushman moving to the team with Gustin. “The Reaper” found success at Mississippi Thunder Speedway, bringing home the first Series win for Cooney’s team and Infinity Chassis. From there, the Marshalltown, IA native recorded his best statistical season, scoring four more wins at Deer Creek Speedway, Cedar Lake Speedway, Atomic Speedway, and Boothill Speedway to finish the year with 10 wins. Gustin is the sole proprietor of 24th on the all-time wins list. 

Nick Hoffman (Rank: 26 / Wins: 7): The Mooresville, NC driver kicked any thought of a sophomore slump out of the way and put himself in contention for his first Series title this year. He started the year with his first Federated Auto Parts DIRTcar Nationals Golden Gator trophy aboard the No. 9 NOS Energy Drink Late Model, and continued the momentum throughout the first half of the season with four additional wins at Farmer City Speedway, Mississippi Thunder Speedway, Brownstown Speedway and Norman County Speedway. Hoffman went on to finish third in the Series standings, and shares 26th on the all-time wins list with Brian Birkhofer. 

One-Up: Hudson O’Neal, Martinsville, IN, earned his second career World of Outlaws Late Models Feature win at Sunshine Nationals – his final Series win as the Rocket1 Racing driver. “The New Deal” now shares two Series wins alongside his dad, Don O’Neal. 

While Ricky Thornton Jr. had a season of change, his winning ways remained the same. Driving for three teams with the World of Outlaws in 2024, the Chandler, AZ driver found his way to Victory Lane on the opening night of the World of Outlaws World Finals aboard his No. 20RT Koehler Motorsports machine. The win moved “RTJ” up to 28th on the wins list, ranked among names like Max Blair, Earl Pearson Jr., Brady Smith, Donnie Moran and Bart Hartman.
