Once your plates are emptied this Thanksgiving, your mind may well be going to a full holiday shopping schedule.
Black Friday is followed by Small Business Saturday, and Emporia Main Street Director Casey Woods says one of the big activities is the Elf Scavenger Hunt.
Participating downtown merchants will also have specials, either rolled over from Black Friday or unique to Small Business Saturday.
Main Street is also getting ready for its annual holiday carriage rides. Carriages will be clip-clopping through parts of downtown Emporia on Dec. 5, 12 and 19, with tickets going on sale at emporiamainstreet.com at 2 pm Monday. Cost is $10 a rider, although children who can sit on a lap can ride the carriage for free.
