13 FIRST ALERT: Thanksgiving snow leads to slick travel in the Eau Claire area
EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) – Its turned into a white Thanksgiving for the city of Eau Claire and points southeast, all thanks to a rare weather phenomena that has taken place in the Menomonie area. The National Weather Service office in the Twin Cities put out a great explainer on this, which can be found below:
Although accumulations have been light overall, the snow has caused major holiday travel headaches in and around the city. Roads are snow covered and slick, especially on I-94 where multiple accidents have occurred. If you’re driving to any Thanksgiving gatherings the rest of today, be sure to exercise extreme caution and take it slow. Plow crews are currently out plowing and salting roads.
