Jordan Stolz bags three gold medals at Beijing stop of 2024/25 ISU World Cup Speed Skating

American phenom Jordan Stolz continued his blazing speed skating winning streak capturing the 1000m title at the ISU World Cup Speed Skating in Beijing on Saturday (30 November).

The 20-year-old added the victory in the 1000m to his triumphs in the 500m and 1500m the day before to extend his winning streak to 11.

Stolz got his Beijing campaign off to a stunning start by breaking the track record in the 500m with a time of 34.27 seconds. Less than two hours later, Stolz raced to victory in the 1500m in 1:43.94.

To complete his golden trifecta, Stolz set a track record in his pet 1000m event with a time of 1:07.62, edging Dutch star Jenning de Boo into second place. De Boo was just 0.20s slower than Stolz with Zhongyan Ning of the People’s Republic of China finishing third with 1:07.91.

Stolz has emerged as a superstar of the sport since his debut at the Beijing 2022 Olympic Oval where he finished 13th in the 500m and 14th in the 1000m.

He became the youngest skater to win a world title in a single distance when he powered to victory at the 2023 World Single Distances Speed Skating Championships. Stolz further cemented his place on the global stage, becoming the first man to win three individual titles at a single world championship with wins in the 500m, 1000m and 1500m in 2023 and 2024.
