Pelicans’ Brandon Ingram to sign with Klutch Sports agency
NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – Anticipated as one of the top NBA free agents in 2025, Pelicans forward Brandon Ingram has signed with Klutch Sports Group after recently firing his previous agency, according to ESPN.
Klutch represents elite talent such as LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Ingram’s teammate Dejounte Murray.
Ingram’s move comes after he and the Pelicans were unable to reach a contract extension last summer. The Pelicans also engaged with other teams in the offseason to discuss trades centered around Ingram but nothing materialized.
Ingram, 27, was drafted at No. 2 overall by the Los Angeles Lakers in 2016 and was sent to New Orleans in the blockbuster deal that sent Davis to LA. Pairing Davis with James resulted in the Lakers becoming the 2020 NBA Champions immediately after the offseason trade.
The Pelicans owe Ingram $36 million this season before his contract ends this summer. He’s currently averaging 22.9 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 5.4 assists this season but has been sidelined for several games due to right calf soreness.
Ingram’s teammate Zion Williamson, the franchise’s star, is out indefinitely with a hamstring injury.
The Pelicans are currently 4-16 this season, the worst record in the Western Conference.
Fortunately for the Pelicans, players are returning from injury. Dejounte Murray, C.J. McCollum, and Trey Murphy III are expected to be in the lineup Sunday (Dec. 1) night when they travel to New York to face the 11-8 Knicks at 5 p.m. on the Gulf Coast Sports & Entertainment Network. The game can be found on antenna Ch. 7 or Cox Cable Ch. 10.
