Louisvillians still shopping for the holiday season might want to consider a local opportunity filled with deals and discounts.

According to the Louisville Independent Business Alliance, the “hoLOUdays Shopping Tour” will take place Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., beginning at Falls City Beer at 901 E. Liberty St., where participants can shop from several businesses in several neighborhoods and receive special discounts.

Louisville Independent Business Alliance Executive Director Jennifer Rubenstein said they originally started the event in partnership with the UofL Alumni Association in 2012 before taking it over independently.

“The hoLOUdays Shopping Tour is a festive way to get your holiday shopping wrapped up while spending quality time with friends and family,” Rubenstein said. “LIBA loves to coordinate this amazing day of shopping because it’s not only a fun time, it keeps dollars recirculating in our local economy at a higher rate.”

Registration is $49 and includes a day of shopping with tour bus transportation to Butrchertown, NuLu and Bardstown Road, a light breakfast, an open reception, an end-of-the-day pizza party and a chance to win a $200 NuLu shopping spree.

Participants will depart from Falls City at 9:30 a.m. and return at 4 p.m. for pizza and drinks. Stops along the way with discounts include Work The Metal, Moss Hill Bath & Body Collection, Muth’s Candies, Evergreen Liquors, The Plant Kingdom, Clay and Cotton, Parkside Bikes and Edenside Gallery.
