Coaching carousel updates: The latest on open 2024-25 FBS jobs, interest in Bobby Petrino
What once looked to be a slow 2024-25 college football head coaching cycle is beginning to pick up steam.
Three Power Four jobs came open over the weekend while Temple (K.C. Keeler) and Kennesaw State (Jerry Mack) announced their hires. In total, there are now 16 open FBS jobs. Here’s the latest on what we’re hearing at 247Sports on a few openings, including at Charlotte where a notable name has emerged as a serious candidate.
Florida Atlantic: The Owls have conducted an interesting search to replace Tom Herman, which seems to be down to a handful of names. Louisville offensive coordinator Brian Brohm is in town Monday for an interview while SMU associate head coach Garin Justice is also deep in the mix, per multiple sources. Brohm’s brother, Jeff, previously worked at FAU while Justice served as FAU’s offensive line coach in 2016 and 2017.
