Peloton’s Fitness Predictions for 2025 – Peloton Buddy
As the new year approaches, Peloton has released its predictions for the top fitness trends of 2025, highlighting areas where the brand anticipates growth and innovation.
Peloton published a press release that offered an interesting snapshot of where they hope to go in 2025. From “running booms” to AI-powered workouts, Peloton predicts a number of standout trends – with input from a wide variety of instructors.
First, Peloton maintains that the sport of running had a banner year in 2024. There was record-breaking participation at major events like the TCS New York City Marathon, which saw over 55,000 finishers, and the BMW Berlin Marathon, which welcomed 54,000 participants. With Sydney, Australia, joining the Abbott World Marathon Majors, enthusiasm for running continues to spread globally.
In 2025, Peloton expects this growth to accelerate further, driven by innovations in training tools and personalized programs. Peloton points to their Pace Target classes on the Tread and Tread+, which allow runners to match instructor cues to their own pace. Peloton recently expanded these classes to the digital app as well.
Community is also playing a vital role in running’s surge. Peloton instructor Erik Jӓger notes that run clubs (which Peloton has been hosting from London monthlyForm Feedback feature on the Peloton Guide delivers real-time movement corrections in strength classes, enhancing confidence and technique. Meanwhile, the standalone Strength+ app – which just launched this week – offers customizable programs based on workout duration, experience level, and fitness goals.
Brent Tworetzky, Peloton’s SVP of Product, sees AI becoming even more effective through improved pattern recognition and expanded data sources. However, he stresses that human connection remains essential. He states:
“Trust and clarity are important and without human connection, workout delivery and guidance can feel impersonal and in turn, less trusted.”
In addition, as people look to stay active and healthy throughout their lives, Peloton shares that exercise for longevity is gaining attention. Studies have shown that regular physical activity can increase life expectancy, and Peloton’s instructors agree. Ben Alldis points to the role of strength training in improving bone density and overall health, encouraging individuals to find forms of exercise they enjoy and can sustain over time. Recovery, a critical part of consistent training, is also seeing a rise in focus.
Finally, Peloton notes that strength training is their second-most popular modality, and its influence is only growing. The emphasis is shifting from general fitness to goal-oriented, well-structured programs, and Peloton will continue to focus on this content in 2025.
Ben Alldis predicts a greater focus on lifting heavier weights in structured formats, particularly among women, as awareness grows about the benefits of strength training. He states:
“In the past, we’ve seen a lot of strength endurance such as a combination of lighter weights and HIIT style training whereas now, and particularly with a female audience, there’s more awareness of the benefits of lifting heavier weights in a structured way.”
Peloton’ goes on to state that their Strength+ app is designed to meet this demand, offering multi-week plans tailored to specific goals, making strength training more approachable and effective.
It is worth noting that Peloton’s predictions for 2025 fitness trends align closely with the features and initiatives they have been developing and releasing in recent months.
Nonetheless, these highlights showcase a blend of what Peloton is already doing, along with potential new areas of exploration. According to the press release:
In summary, 2025 should bring advancements in technology providing new ways to workout, as well as the continued growth of fitness events, offering connection and community. With so many options and ways to engage with fitness, it’s important to find what works for you. However you choose to move, Peloton is with you every step of the way with workouts designed to get you to your goals, a uniquely entertaining fitness experience with world-class Instructors, and a supportive community by your side when you need it.
