Here’s When Apple Will Release iOS 18.2 Update For The iPhone, As Developers Get The First RC Build
Apple saw fit to release the iOS 18.2 release candidate build recently, which comes jam-packed with a plethora of new features, especially the new Apple Intelligence improvements. Apple was initially reported to release iOS 18.2 on December 9, and it appears that prior speculations could turn out to be true. If you are a developer, you can download and install the latest iOS 18.2 RC build on your iPhone right now.
Apple could release iOS 18.2 update for the iPhone next week
iOS 18.2 will be a major update considering the number of front-facing features it will bring to the table, including Apple Intelligence upgrades. We are most excited about the new ChatGPT integration with Siri, which will make it a lot smarter than it currently is. The new Siri will be able to better compete against the likes of Google Assistant, which has been running ahead of the competition for the past few years.
Apart from ChatGPT integration, iOS 18.2 is also expected to include Image Playground, which is the company’s new tool to generate images using generative AI. You will be able to generate images using natural language commands, and the entire process will be quite seamless without the use of any third-party app.
Genmoji will also utilize Apple’s AI capabilities, allowing users to create custom emojis for enhanced communication with family and friends. You can create emojis based on descriptions and phrases, and the data will be pulled from the People album in Photos. There will be a handful of additional features as well, including Image Wand, which will work in collaboration with the Image Playground feature in the Notes app.
As for when Apple will release the iOS 18.2 update to the public, it is a tricky question this time around. Apple released the RC build of iOS 18.2 to developers on Thursday, which is two days late compared to its typical releases. This means that the company has two options – either release the final build on Tuesday or Thursday next week. We believe that Apple will see fit to release the iOS 18.2 update for the iPhone on December 9 or 10, keeping up with its usual time frame.
Take note that the final word rests with Apple, so be sure to take the news with a grain of salt. We will share more details on iOS 18.2 and its features, so be sure to stick around for more. What feature are you most looking forward to in iOS 18.2? Let us know in the comments.
