Business Buzz: Opening date pushed back for Fargo Happy Joe’s

FARGO — The opening date for a Happy Joe’s restaurant at 2911 45th St. S. in Fargo has been pushed back.

Co-owner Dan Labernik told The Forum Tuesday, Dec. 3, that equipment is still being installed this week. Once that is done, they’ll need time to train employees and get a final inspection from the city of Fargo.

They are now shooting to open Dec. 12 or 13.

FARGO — Nice Barber Co. is reminding customers it will be moving to a new home early next year.

The barbershop announced in October it would be pulling up stakes at 610 N. University Drive in Fargo — where it has been part of Fargo Brewing Company’s taproom and event venue for about 3½ years — and relocating to a new spot several blocks south at 1320 1st Ave. N.

In a recent Facebook post, Nice Barber Co. owner Branden Ashmore said the shop’s last day at its current location would be Dec. 20 and he said the business would reopen early in the new year in its new location.

“This new spot, our neighbors, and everything about this new location is great and I really look forward to sharing it with all of you! See you very soon and happy holidays!” Ashmore said in the post.

Ashmore’s announcement in October that the barbershop would be moving was made

amid news that Fargo Brewing Co. was closing its doors for good

and would not be operating beyond November.

With the year drawing to a close, the U.S. Department of Labor wants to return $57,865 in wages recovered by its Wage and Hour Division to 145 North Dakota workers.

Workers can check out the “Workers Owed Wages” online tool to find unpaid wages due to them.

Users can use the online WOW tool to search for an employer, followed by the user’s name, to see if any unclaimed wages are earmarked for them. Users then submit contact information so they can receive a “back wage claim form and” instructions to receive their wages. A government-issued form of identification is also required. The tool is available in both English and Spanish.
