Next year will mark the 20th of longtime indie rock outfit Local Natives. The Orange County band made their mark in the late 2000s with the release of Gorilla Manor.

The last few years have seen the release of a pair of companion albums, 2023’s Time Will Wait for No One and this year’s But I’ll Wait for You. Today, we’re featuring a mini-concert from Local Natives playing songs from those records. It’s also a chance to offer a farewell to longtime vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Kelcey Ayer. He announced he’ll be wrapping up his time in the band after this tour.

So, let’s get into our session, recorded live at KUTX in Austin for World Cafe. Enjoy!

This episode of World Cafe was produced by Will Loftus. The web story was created by Miguel Perez. Our engineer is Chris Williams. Our programming and booking coordinator is Chelsea Johnson and our senior producer is Kimberly Junod.
