Small businesses affected by 2020 hurricanes eligible to apply for loan

MONROE, La. (KNOE) – Local businesses that are still recovering from hurricanes Laura and Delta now have a new resource to help them get back on their feet.

The Monroe Chamber of Commerce introduced the Restore Small Business Loan Program today (April 30). The loans have zero percent interest and up to 40 percent of the loan can be forgiven.

“It was a tough year in Louisiana and a lot of businesses were impacted even this far into the state,” said Cullen Curole with the South Central Planning and Development Commission. “We know it’s four years later, but federal money is down, it’s available, and we need to get it into the business community.”
