Packers, Travel Wisconsin share draft week preparation ideas with businesses

NEENAH, Wis. (WBAY) – With the NFL draft now 134 days away, there is a lot of preparation to be done.

On Wednesday, the Packers, Travel Wisconsin, and other organizations stopped in Neenah on their two-day tour around Wisconsin to share ideas for businesses in the area on how to prepare for the week of the draft.

Officials from each organization talked about the ways businesses could promote themselves and how important it is to use this opportunity to their advantage, with an emphasis on the use of social media.

“The idea is to maximize the opportunity. We’re going to have this influx of visitors that are tourists but there’s also people that are going to be here who definitely are going to look to come back, and maybe some business development opportunities,” said Aaron Popkey, the director of public affairs for the Packers.

The panel also talked about how it’s key to create a legacy that will last for them.

The estimated economic impact was also discussed, with the numbers predicting an estimated $20 million in Green Bay alone, and $94 million for all of Wisconsin.
