Real Madrid Ace Kroos Speaks On Future And World’s Best Player After Bayern Munich Masterclass

Real Madrid ace Toni Kroos spoke about his future and a sensational assist he provided for Vinicius Jr after their team drew 2-2 with Bayern Munich in a Champions League semi final first leg on Tuesday.

Following a midfield masterclass which saw him voted the match’s MVP by television viewers in Spain, Kroos attended reporters in the mixed zone and told one “I haven’t decided” when asked about whether he will stay at the club past June 30 when his contract expires.

“I want to win as much as possible this season and I don’t think about the future,” said the German, who at the age of 34 is enjoying arguably the best season of his career.

Booed by fans of his former club, which he left in 2014 to join Los Blancos, a five-time winner of the competition wasn’t at all surprised by the way that Bayern set up nor was he prepared to get his feathers ruffled about an overall team performance that head coach Carlo Ancelotti criticized.

“We’ve had some good moments and others not so much, this is the Champions League. If they score in the first 15 minutes it seems normal, but they scored when we were in control. It’s OK, we’ve shown our faces here and now let’s go for it [in the second leg].”

Probed on a fantastic assist for Vinicius, which opened the scoring ahead of Bayern responding with two early second half goals, Kroos gave “a lot of credit” to the Brazilian, who was the overall MVP.

“He’s the one who offered me to make the pass with his movement, I saw his marker following him and I knew he was going to be slow.

“The pass at the end wasn’t so special, the movement was. Not only is he [Vinicius] fast, he’s also smart and knows when to move.

“It’s going to be a very important game,” Kroos predicted, about the return leg in the Bernabeu on Wednesday next week.

Asked again about Vinicius and whether he is the best player in the world, Kroos noted that “a week ago everyone said that the best is Jude [Bellingham]. Now Vini … That’s because we have a lot of good players”.
