Freezing rain and fog will impact your Saturday. If you don’t have to travel today, don’t
SIOUX CITY (KTIV) –
TODAY, TONIGHT, AND
TOMORROW’S FORECAST:
All of Siouxland will be under a Winter Weather Advisory until noon today.
This is because we will continue to experience freezing rain and wintry mix throughout the morning.
By 9 AM this is what our radar could look like. For the most part, the wintry weather will be along and east of I-29 and along HWY 20.
By noon, this is what our radar could look like.
We will continue to see some spotty freezing rain and wintry mix along and east of I-29.
Then by 5 PM our radar will be fairly quiet, but we will be dealing with freezing fog all across Siouxland, which will continue to cause icy conditions.
This is why we have a First Alert Weather Day in effect for our Saturday.
Our main focus today will be the freezing rain and fog impacting the area.
Our ice forecast has not changed, as we are expecting to see higher ice amounts in the orange shaded area.
Highs today will be flirting with 32 with some warmer temperatures in southern Siouxland.
Temperatures today will play a big role in how much additional ice we receive today.
Tonight, we are not forecasting any freezing rain or wintry weather, but freezing fog will impact us.
The freezing fog will continue to cause ice accumulation and slick spots on the roads.
The fog could be dense at times.
Tomorrow will start off icy with freezing fog as morning lows will be below freezing.
The good news is that the freezing fog will burn off by the afternoon, and that will allow us to warm up Sunday.
We are forecasting highs to be in the 30s and 40s, which will allow us to melt all the ice.
EXTENDED FORECAST:
We will continue to see warm weather into our Monday.
Tuesday we could see a quick clipper system passing by, producing some snow but not forecasting a lot of snow out of it.
By next week we will see some cooler air settle in.
