Packers Wire staff predictions: Week 15 vs. Seahawks

The Green Bay Packers can take a big step toward clinching a playoff berth if Matt LaFleur’s team can go on the road and beat the Seattle Seahawks at Lumen Field on Sunday night.

The Packers need a win in a tightening wildcard race. The Seahawks need a win to stay atop the NFC West. The playoff implications entering Sunday night are clear, especially considering that — if the season ended today — the Packers would be going on the road to play the Seahawks in the first round of the NFC playoffs.

Here’s how the staff at Packers Wire believes the Week 15 showdown with the Seahawks will go down:

Zach Kruse: Packers 27, Seahawks 24 (7-6)

The Packers were one play away from beating the Lions in Detroit last Thursday night, so internal belief in going into Seattle and winning should be high, especially coming off the mini-bye and considering Jordan Love’s play over the last month. Then again, the Seahawks have won four straight games, have playmakers all over on offense and can win battles up front defensively with a deep pass-rushing core. Throw in a playoff-like atmosphere in Seattle, where the Packers haven’t won since 2008, and the challenge is clear. This game feels like a tossup. So, what should you do when you see a tossup? Go with the prediction you want. In what could be a back-and-forth contest, I think Love makes one big play and the defense pressures Geno Smith in one big moment to help the Packers escape with a narrow (but very important) win.

Brandon Carwile: Packers 28, Seahawks 20 (10-3)

The Packers are back on the road this week, traveling to face a division-leading Seattle Seahawks team. The Seahawks have won four in a row, led by a stout defense allowing less than 16 points per game during that stretch. Juxtaposed to Seattle’s defense playing lights out, the Packers offense is averaging over 30 points per game over the last four games. Even though the home team has won the previous ten meetings in this series, I’ve got Green Bay rolling into the Seahawks’ nest and coming out with a win. Josh Jacobs continues his impressive touchdown streak with another multi-touchdown game, and Xavier McKinney will pick off Geno Smith, who is third in interceptions thrown.

Brennen Rupp: Packers 24, Seahawks 17 (12-1)

Kenny Clark is coming alive and I think he’s going to have his best game of the season on Sunday night. With Clark being a wrecking ball, Seattle could find it tough sledding on the ground. Josh Jacobs will continue to eat as the Packers pick up their 10th win of the season.

Writer Prediction Score Record
Zach Kruse Win 27-24 7-6
Brandon Carwile Win 28-20 10-3
Brennen Rupp Win 24-17 12-1
