Thief steals businessman’s mower, taking his business
AKRON, Ohio (WOIO) – “The trailer and mower was right here,” said Michael Bulter, who owns A&M Landscaping, pointing to area in front of his home on Marks Avenue. “I keep it here all the time.”
That was until last Sunday at 7:41 when a thief rolled up in a truck and made off with the $4,000 mower in the Goodyear Heights neighborhood of Akron.
“They came around this corner right here and crept,” he explained. “Somebody pulled up with a twenty-six-foot truck and then just pulled off with my trailer and my mower.”
Michael had unhitched his trailer from his truck and went to the store to buy presents for his son Aaron’s fifth birthday. When he returned, he couldn’t believe his eyes: the mower, on which he still owes money, had disappeared.
“My whole trailer was gone,” he said. “It’s my life. I cut grass. It’s like, ‘Boom,’ now it’s gone. Everything that I’ve literally worked for.”
While his five kids prepare the inside of the house for Christmas, outside of the house, there’s a hole.
“It’s just hard to come out here and to see and look and it’s just gone,” he said. “Something hard to look at.”
Michael has set up a GoFundMe account to help his struggling business in case police don’t recover his mower.
