I said on my podcast that this was the easiest teaser leg of the week. It’s just a shame that it’s isolated to Monday night, but I’ll make do anyway. I just can’t see the Vikings losing this game, not with what a victory over the cupcake Bears would do for their division and top NFC seed hopes after Detroit lost yesterday. This offense is playing at an elite level right now, and should have another easy time against a Chicago defense that’s nowhere near as fierce as it was supposed to be. With how bad the Bears have been on the road in recent years, this should be a simple game for the Vikings to get the win in.

Chicago Bears/Minnesota Vikings Over 38

As I said above, the Minnesota offense is on another level in recent weeks, not coincidentally coinciding TJ Hockenson getting back into the groove and up to full strength. That has powered them to 29.5 PPG the past 4 games, which would make for a great floor to reach this adjusted total. I think the Vikings will do most of the work in getting over this number, but Chicago has proven they can score against the Minnesota defense with 27 points in the first meeting. The Bears’ decline on defense has led to some shootouts for them this season as they’re 9-4 over this adjusted total, while the Vikings have a 10-3 mark over it, and I see another tonight.

This game has very little chance of seeing defensive effort, and I think it turns into a layup line. Both the Bulls and the Raptors are towards the bottom of the league in defensive rating, efficiency, and opponent floor percentage. And any time I watch either of them play, I see basically zero resistance at the rim where plenty of points should come today. The pace will be high here as both squads rank in the top 6 for possessions per game, so two teams that aren’t exactly trying to win this season should turn this into a rec league game with a ton of points.
