For Amal Clooney, 2024 Was a Year of Vintage, Venice, and Versace
Every summer we wait for it: Amal Clooney in Lake Como; it’s such a reliable seasonal event that it almost like the glamorous version of Punxsutawney Phil. This year, Clooney lived up to her reputation as a fashion authority—particularly excelling in the three V’s: vintage, vacation, and Versace.
The human rights barrister gave a masterclass in date night style with a roster of prize vintage dresses. On one occasion in Lake Como, she wore a white midi dress with polka-dots and floral motifs from John Galliano’s spring 2004 collection for Christian Dior, which she purchased from Tab Vintage. Meanwhile in Saint-Tropez, she wore a neon pink, yellow, and orange toile minidress with asymmetrical tiered ruffles from Versace’s spring 2004 collection.
While at the Venice Film Festival, Clooney showed off a colorful range of looks. She traversed the rainbow in a canary yellow pleated sundress with a lettuce hem, a tangerine-hued sleeveless jumpsuit, and an emerald green evening dress with a thigh-high slit. But perhaps the crown jewel of her festival looks was the butter yellow Atelier Versace dress she wore to the premiere of Wolfs. The dress, complete with a corseted bodice and sweeping train, was embellished with ruffles and lace in alternating shades of yellow and white.
Between her neon toile vintage Versace, multi-patterned Galliano Dior, and the bohemian Chloé resort 2015 dress she wore in Saint-Tropez recently, Clooney proved that she was all in on experimenting with bold patterns and colors this year. Below, take a look back at Amal Clooney’s 2024 fashion.
