Spokesperson Morgan Dean said when it comes to flights, this Friday and Saturday will kick off the rush with about 185,000 people expected to hit the skies over the next few weeks.
“We are heading into a very busy time period with a lot of people trying to get in trips. Some will be visiting with family and getting in a holiday trip, others may be taking vacations, others may be setting off one or two times during that time period perhaps for a New Year’s Eve getaway. There can be a lot of different days where it can be busy with people coming and going during that time period,” Dean said.
If you are driving, Sunday is expected to be a peak time on the roads.
Gas prices are also at their lowest in three years, with the average in Virginia around $2.90.
