Torched Hop Brewing Company closing after more than 8 years in business

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – Another Atlanta brewery is closing.

In a few weeks, Torched Hop Brewing Company on Ponce de Leon Avenue will close its doors after more than eight years in business, the owners announced Tuesday.

“This is a post we didn’t want to write but one we must,” the owners wrote in a social media post Tuesday. “It’s with a heavy heart we announce Dec. 31 will be our last day of business.”

The brewery didn’t give a reason for closing.

“We are forever grateful to the team members who have put so much effort into making Torched Hop a special place,” the owners wrote. “We are also thankful for the many regulars, friends and family members who have supported us on this journey. It’s not the fairy tale ending we had hoped for. But we have created memories that will last a lifetime.”

In just the last two years, at least 12 local breweries have closed.
