TSA shares tips for navigating the busy holiday travel season
The year-end holiday travel season is upon us, and AAA expects December 21 to January 1 to be the most crowded time for traveling.
The Syracuse Hancock International Airport expects a 28% increase in passengers during that period compared to a typical day.

TSA officials provided tips on how to prepare for your holiday flights.
When packing presents, do not wrap them up. If a wrapped present raises suspicion, it will need to be opened. The TSA recommends packing wrapping paper and tape separately to wrap your gifts at your destination. Using easy-to-open gift boxes or gift bags with tissue paper is another great option which allows for easy inspections.
Arriving to the airport two hours ahead of your flight is recommended to beat the crowds. Have your boarding pass and personal identification ready and follow the instruction of TSA Officers who want to ensure the safety of all passengers and airport personnel.
Follow policy to avoid liquids or personal electronics violations which could distract TSA officials from larger threats.
