Specialty contractor to bring 170 new jobs to Colleton County
COLLETON COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) – A design-build specialty contractor has announced a $35.5 million investment in Colleton County.
Wayne Brothers is planning a new office and operations center in Walterboro, the North Carolina-based company announced.
The company estimates it will add 170 jobs in the area.
Its new facility will be located on Venture Way and will serve as a regional office and operations center, including several divisions from engineering to fabrication, a release states.
“Our new regional office and operations center in Walterboro reflects our commitment to better serving our clients in the Lowcountry,” CEO Keith Wayne said. ”This significant investment underscores our dedication to both our clients and employees, ensuring we continue to deliver excellence in every aspect of our work.”
Gov. Henry McMaster called the company’s plans “a powerful demonstration of their continued confidence in South Carolina as a place they can thrive.”
“This new facility will strengthen the region’s economy and further solidify our state as a prime destination for businesses seeking success,” McMaster said. “We look forward to seeing the positive impact Wayne Brothers’ will continue to have on our state.”
Operations are expected to be online in the first quarter of the new year.
