Here’s how much gambling revenue Ohio’s casinos, racinos made in October

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio’s 11 casinos and racinos reported $195 million of gambling revenue in October, $4 million more than in September.

The same casinos and racinos also generated more revenue than they did this time last year, when they reported $187.8 million in revenue for October, according to data from the Ohio Casino Control and Lottery commissions.

The revenue figures are the money the gambling houses keep after paying out winnings, but before state taxes and fees.

The four casinos that can offer slot machines and tabletop games such as blackjack reported $83 million in gambling revenue in October, up from $79.4 million in the same month last year.

The state’s seven racinos, the gambling houses at horse racetracks that can only offer slot machines, reported $112.1 million in October, up from $108.4. million in October of last year. The totals reported by the Lottery Commission do not include wagering on horse races.

Through eight months, Ohio’s gambling establishments are essentially flat on revenue year-over-year. So far, in 2024, they’ve reported nearly $2 billion in revenue.

In the Greater Cleveland market, October revenue was:

* $25.8 million at MGM Northfield Park, up from $24.5 million in October 2023.

* $15.3 million at JACK Thistledown Racino, up from $14.6 million.

* $19.8 million at JACK Casino Cleveland, down from $21.5 million.
