Big Lots starts going out of business sales at all US stores, including Mississippi

Is your Big Lots closing? On Thursday, the nationwide discount store chain announced it will start going out of business sales at all its existing stores.
Earlier this year, the chain announced up to 40 stores were closing. At the time, it looked like no Mississippi locations were on the list.
The chain said in a news release that a previously announced sale to Nexus Capital Management will be finished as scheduled. They’re still looking for a new agreement either with Nexus or another company. Big Lots is trying to complete a sale by early January.
But going out of business sales are starting at all locations. The chain said leadership thinks the sales won’t prevent a potential transaction.
“We all have worked extremely hard and have taken every step to complete a going concern sale. While we remain hopeful that we can close an alternative going concern transaction, in order to protect the value of the Big Lots estate, we have made the difficult decision to begin the GOB process,” said Bruce Thorn, Big Lots’ president and chief executive officer in the release.
Where are Mississippi Big Lots locations?
According the the Big Lots website, there are 963 locations in the U.S. A dozen stores are in Mississippi.
The Hattiesburg location already had a going out of business banner on the store website.
While the news release from corporate said the sales will start at stores, the other 11 sites in the state did not yet have closing information on the chain’s website. They are:
