Arizona, ASU athletics rank among nation’s top 75 most valuable sports programs

Arizona and Arizona State were listed as two of the top 75 college sports programs according to athletics valuations.
The list was compiled by CNBC and released on Thursday.
The rankings were limited to schools that participate in the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) because it “tends to attract top players.” The rankings excluded military academies.
The top of the list is dominated by teams from the Southeastern Conference (SEC) and Big Ten Conference, which have massive media rights deals.
Arizona and Arizona State moved from the Pac-12 to the Big 12 Conference ahead of the 2024 season.

Where does Arizona rank?
The Arizona Wildcats are ranked No. 41 with a valuation of $532 million. The Wildcats’ revenue is listed at $143 million.
Arizona ranks ahead of some Big Ten Conference schools such as Northwestern, Maryland, UCLA and Rutgers.
Quarterback Noah Fifita and the football program finished with a 4-8 overall record and 2-7 in Big 12 play. It was the first year under coach Brent Brennan.
Arizona men’s basketball finished the 2023-24 season with a 27-9 overall record before having its season end in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament. The program has started 5-5 to begin the 2024-25 season.
Where does Arizona State rank?
The Arizona State Sun Devils are ranked No. 68 with a valuation of $279 million. The Sun Devils’ revenue is listed at $115 million.
Running back Cam Skattebo and the football program reached the inaugural 12-team College Football Playoff after receiving one of the four automatic bids for winning the Big 12. The Sun Devils are ranked 11-2 overall and 7-2 in conference play.
The ASU men’s basketball program finished the 2023-24 season with a 14-18 overall record (8-12 in Pac-12). The Sun Devils were eliminated in the first round of the Pac-12 Tournament. The team is 8-2 to start the 2024-25 season.
