SPRINGVILLE – For all the golfers in the area that are staring outside at the snow and wishing for warm weather, there’s a new way to play year round. Springville Health & Fitness, a 24/7 gym located at 243 W. Main St., has just opened a golf simulator.
The 19th hole at SFH is a fully equipped Trackman golf simulator that offers hundreds of different options, including PGA courses. Booked by the hour (up to four hours max), as many as five people can play different holes and courses, try the driving range feature and chipping games too. The simulator has a touchscreen setup, and players can make an account to save their progress and scores.
Owner Tyler Siddle explained how to get started. “There are two groups that can reserve golf times; golf members and non-members,” Siddle said. “Non-members (a gym membership is not a golf membership) can come during staffed hours, check in at the desk and use the simulator for their reserved timeslots. Golf members can make reservations 24/7 based on availability. They can book through our website or app and enter the gym during unstaffed hours using their phone as a key tag.”
“We were looking to expand and use some of the space we have available to provide another service to the community and our clients. It’s a great way to hang out during the week and keep your swing going during the wintertime.”
Players must use their own clubs. Tees and golf balls are provided, but players can also use their own if they prefer. Food and drink is allowed to be brought in, but no alcohol. There is a television and chairs so people can watch and relax while their friend is teeing off. SHF will be offering leagues as well. A group can reserve a specific time slot every week for 10 weeks.
