Sterling business drives help for local Toys for Tots drive

STERLING, Ill. (KWQC) – A Sterling business got a big boost from the community to help spread some holiday cheer to area kids.

A local business was participating in a Toys for Tots drive but was not getting many donations. That is when others, like Boss Roofing Experts, came in to help.

Now there are enough toys to hand out for the drive.

The owner of Boss Roofing Experts, Brick Boss, said when he saw the initial totals for the drive, he knew they had to help.

“When I was a kid, I knew it helped with my Christmases and I enjoy helping things in the community since it’s something that we shouldn’t really look past,” Boss said.

Boss said he knew there was something they could do to help the 1,200 kids that were going to get a toy each.

“I just knew that there was something we could do to step into the community and pull together and people we reached out to,” Boss said.

The toys that were collected from the drive will be distributed Saturday.
