The Better Business Support Package has grant funding available for Jersey businesses

Company bosses have been encouraged to consider applying for a scheme aiming to support businesses in Jersey.

The government said the Better Business Support Package (BBSP) from Jersey Business would be launched in March 2025m with employers able to apply for 50% match-funded grants, with a total of £5.3m available.

The scheme could help fund initiatives aimed at staff training, productivity and developing businesses in the tourism sector, the government said.

It added registered Jersey businesses would be eligible for the grants if they employ at least one person who is paid a minimum of £128 per week for at least three months and be up to date with tax contributions or on a repayment plan.

Deputy Kirsten Morel, Sustainable Economic Development Minister, said the BBSP was an opportunity for firms in Jersey to secure investment in the people they employ.

Morel said: “There are mounting pressures on employers and I hope they can take time into the new year to consider their business priorities, assess what improved productivity looks like for them and how their staff can become more skilled.

“I would then urge them to engage with Jersey Business to ensure everyone is ready when the application process opens.”
