Planet Fitness reopens in Morganton following Helene
MORGANTON, N.C. (WBTV) -Planet Fitness reopened its doors in Morganton last Thursday, following months of renovations after the Catawba River and Hurricane Helene left the club nearly underwater in September.
According to a news release, the club’s equipment was completely replaced and now includes:
- A stretching and mobility room with Fitbenches.
- A functional training room with a PF360.
- A full-body circuit on the main floor.
- New strength training equipment, including plate-loaded machines and spin bikes.
- Enhanced Black Card® Spa offerings, featuring a Total Body Enhancement and CryoLounge.
“We’re very excited to welcome back our members in the Morganton community! Hurricane Helene left many local organizations devastated, but it’s incredible to be a part of a community so compelled to rebuild,” said Andrew Watkins, market vice president at National Fitness Partners, a leading Planet Fitness franchise. “Our members will enjoy some special upgrades within our Judgement Free club to continue reaching their fitness goals.”
A grand opening celebration will be held in January to celebrate the return of the business.
