Syracuse movie becomes one of the most popular on streaming service
A movie shot in Syracuse is climbing the charts on a streaming service.
“No Such Thing as Loyalty 4,” the fourth film in a series written and directed by local filmmaker Tyrone “Tizak” Jackson, is among the 150 most popular titles on Tubi as of Tuesday morning. The movie premiered in September at the Palace Theatre in Eastwood and is now finding a much larger audience across the U.S.
“No Such Thing as Loyalty 4″ is currently featured on Tubi’s “Most Popular” section alongside a variety of well-known movies and TV shows, including “Die Hard,” “Wonka,” “A Christmas Carol,” “The Departed,” “Bring It On,” “Rush Hour,” “Friday,” “Scooby-Doo,” “Columbo,” “NYPD Blue,” “Good Times,” “Nip/Tuck” and “The Flintstones.”
Tubi is a free, ad-supported streaming platform for movies and TV shows with more than 80 million monthly users, according to parent company Fox Corporation. It’s available through tubitv.com, the Tubi app on smartphones and tablets, smart televisions, and devices like Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire, Xbox, PlayStation, TiVO, and Xfinity X1.
“No Such Thing as Loyalty 4″ is the third sequel to the 2021 action-drama “No Such Thing as Loyalty,” about two men, James (Jackson) and Darnell (Ali Green), whose friendship is tested by a woman. The newest film centers on Darnell as he’s targeted by a well-connected crime boss named Clarence Delgato (Tanquir Bundrage), described as a ruthless killer who ran most of New York.
The “No Such Thing as Loyalty” films were shot in Syracuse and feature local actors. “No Such Thing as Loyalty,” “No Such Thing as Loyalty 2″ (featuring former SU running back Robert Drummond) and “No Such Thing as Loyalty 3″ are also available to watch via Tubi.
Jackson, a Fowler High School graduate, is a prolific filmmaker in Syracuse who works both on screen as an actor and behind the scenes as a writer, director, and producer. He pursued a career as a rapper and DJ before launching his own film production company, All Grown Up Entertainment, in 2015.
Jackson’s other credits include “Family Over Everything,” “Vindictive,” “Infidelity,” “I Got This 2″ and “Turned Out,” plus “Priest the Lost Son,” a pitch trailer for a “Super Fly” remake that included Hollywood stars Jamal Woolard (“Notorious”), Robin Givens (“Boomerang”) and Clifton Powell (“Selma”). Several titles are available to stream or rent on demand on Amazon Prime Video.
