Rihanna reveals the fashion trend she regrets the most: ‘It’s called growth’
There is no denying that Rihanna influenced music and fashion at the height of her success in the entertainment business. The singer stepped onto the scene and transformed the industry with her charisma, authenticity, music, and fashion choices.
While the singer and businesswoman was a trendsetter even in the early 2000s when she started her journey to stardom, she is not too fond of her previous styling decisions, which are now back on trend among a new generation.
During a recent interview with Mystery Fashionist, the singer talked about her fashion sense in the present during her new life chapter as a mom and entrepreneur. Rihanna is always looking effortlessly cool while still being comfortable with her ensembles.
The performer was asked about the fashion trend she regretted taking part in. “Oh my God, why y’all gotta bring up old s—,” she responded, adding that while many people don’t like to look back at the sweatpants and heels combination, she still loves it. “Especially now as a mom,” she added.
However, the trend she regrets goes back to her red carpet appearances in 2005. “When I first started, and I was wearing like the baggy jeans, with the panties out,” she said, adding, “What the f— was I thinking?”
“It’s called growth, y’all!” she said, explaining that she is far from that trend. Rihanna has always loved to have fun and experiment with fashion, as she revealed in the book ‘Rihanna and the Clothes She Wears.’
“I grew up on a really small Island, and I didn’t have a lot of access to fashion, but as far as I could remember, fashion has always been my defense mechanism,” she stated. “Even as a child, I remember thinking, she can beat me, but she cannot beat my outfit.”
