Former 12-year Major League Baseball veteran Ehire Adrianza has announced his retirement from the game at the age of 35. Adrianza spent time with the Minnesota Twins, San Francisco Giants, Atlanta Braves, Washington Nationals, and Los Angeles Angels. Adrianza made the announcement on his Instagram page.
“This journey has been incredibly challenging, filled with ups and downs, but every step along the way has been a blessing that I cherish immensely,” Adrianza said. “Since my childhood, I dreamed of the possibility of winning a World Series, a goal that once seemed so distant and almost unattainable. However, thanks to my effort, dedication, and the unwavering support of each one of you, that dream has become a reality. I still find it hard to believe that I have had the honor of playing more than a decade in the Major Leagues. I never imagined I would achieve so much, and it’s astonishing to reflect on this experience.”

While Adrianza played with multiple different teams, he was a piece of the Braves’ 2021 World Series-winning team. The veteran made 10 pinch-hit appearances, six coming in the National League Championship Series, during the 2021 postseason. The righty recorded a double and a run scored in the NLCS.
The 35-year-old slashed .237/.307/.352 for his career, making his earnings due to his defensive versatility. Adrianza played every position on the field besides catcher. He even made three pitching appearances during the latter part of his career.
