What is Jayden Daniels most thankful for this Christmas?

It’s been a dream season for the Washington Commanders. The dream began in July 2023 when Josh Harris bought the team but kicked into high gear in January when Adam Peters was hired as general manager. In April, Peters selected quarterback Jayden Daniels as the No. 2 overall pick, and the rest, they say, is history.

With Daniels under center, Washington is 10-5, its best record through 15 games since 1991 — the last Super Bowl championship team. Daniels is breaking records weekly and will likely break the NFL record for Rookie of the Week awards this week. Daniels passed for five touchdowns and rushed for 81 yards, leading the Commanders to an upset, come-from-behind win over the Philadelphia Eagles.

“Most thankful for the Washington Commander Organization drafting me,” Daniels told reports on Christmas Eve. “Just making my dreams come reality, and obviously, my new teammates and brotherhood that I gained over this year. I’m thankful for the fans showing up each and every week.”

Could there have ever been a more perfect response? A young superstar quarterback happy to be in Washington. Appreciative of the organization, appreciative of his teammates, and the fans.

On Sunday, the Commanders play the Atlanta Falcons and are one win away — or a loss by Tampa Bay — from clinching a playoff spot before Week 18.
