9 Bullard ISD athletes sign to play their sport at the next level

Bullard, Texas (PRESS RELEASE) – It’s a great day to be a Panther! Nine student-athletes signed letters of intent to play their sport at the collegiate level during a signing ceremony in the Bullard High School auditorium on May 1, 2024. Earlier in the school year, nine additional athletes signed commitments, bringing the total number of the Class of 2024 Panther athletes playing at the next level to 18.

Head football coach Colton Bradford describes Panther quarterback Ayden Barrett, who finished his career with 2,241 passing yards and 21 touchdowns as well as 161 rushing yards and 3 rushing touchdowns, as a true leader for the team.

“Ayden Barrett is a true leader on and off the field,” Bradford said. “With an unwavering work ethic as relentless as his drive to succeed, he inspires his teammates and sets the standard for excellence. In every huddle and every play, he orchestrates not just a game plan but a symphony of determination and resilience. Ayden Barrett isn’t just a quarterback; he was the heartbeat of the Bullard Panthers, the epitome of what it means to lead with grit and poise.”

On the softball field, Anistyn Foster led her team and the pitching circle with over 400 innings pitched, 56 wins, and 631 career strikeouts.

“Anistyn is a young lady who has sacrificed immensely and worked with diligence to achieve the success that she has had,” Bullard Softball Coach Julie Murry said.  “She has a great softball story filled with resilience, grit, and grace, and we couldn’t be more proud of her today as she signs to fulfill a lifelong dream she has worked hard for. She has provided great leadership and maturity for our program in all four seasons she has competed for us.”

Her teammate and Bullard Softball first baseman Matti Nix logged over 300 career putouts, a .300 batting average, and nine home runs as a Lady Panther.

“Matti is a young lady who has gone above and beyond to achieve the success of signing today to play college softball,” Murry said. “Matti is a champion teammate and player. As a four-year varsity athlete, she is the epitome of a Bullard Softball Player.  We are very proud of who she is and what she’s accomplished.”

Lady Panther soccer, cross country, and track athlete Alyssa Bryant will use her talents to play all three sports at Jacksonville College.

“Alyssa’s determination in every sport she plays, along with her drive for academic excellence, will take her far in reaching her goals at the collegiate level,” Bullard Cross Country coach Andy Eisenbacher said.

We are proud of all our students-athletes and wish them much success in their athletic and academic endeavors.
