TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — It’s the season for spring cleaning, and if you are cleaning up your yard and notice that it might be time to remove some old or sick trees, one local Twin Falls business can help you.

This week’s Behind the Business takes us to Cox Tree Service.

Jonathan Cox started Cox Tree Service about seven years ago.

He has always loved being around trees, climbing them, nurturing them, and trimming them.

He decided to start his own business where people who need tree work done, can get it done from a licensed and reputable company.

“I’m a climber, so I climb trees, so I’ll climb trees and, say there is something over your house that you want cut, I’ll lower the branches down with a rope, and yeah, basically you just call and I’ll come out and give you a free estimate, and then if you want to go ahead with it, I’ll come out and take care of it,” said Jonathan Cox the owner.

According to the Forest Service, removing sick trees can help other trees stay healthy.

Trees that are too close to a house could create a hazard for your home.

Jonathan Cox and his crew work in Twin Falls and the surrounding areas.

“Ever since I was like 12, 13 years old, I had a chainsaw in my hand, cutting firewood in the mountains, my dad taught me how to cut down trees when I was a kid, then when I got older, I started cutting down trees for other people and then I was like, Oh I can do this for a business you know. and so I got all licensed and insured,” said Cox.

He says this is his busy season, but he can come to you all year.
