Air Force saw its second player from the 2023-24 roster leave for a new program on Saturday, as sophomore starter Kellan Boylan transferred to Lipscomb University.
Boylan, who announced his commitment on X, started 30 games for the Falcons last season. He averaged 7.2 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game.
Boylan’s standout performance came against Wyoming, when he dropped 32 points on nine 3-pointers. He reached double figures in eight games, doing so three times in Mountain West play.
The forward’s strong season came after he appeared in just six games as a freshman in 2022-23.
Lipscomb in Nashville, Tenn., competes in the Atlantic Sun Conference and reached its first NCAA Tournament in 2018. The Bisons finished 20-12 in 2023-24.
Boylan’s transfer comes six days after fellow sophomore Rytis Petraitis announced his commitment to California. Petraitis led Air Force in points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks in 2023-24.
Boylan and Petraitis are the only two Falcons who have entered their names into the transfer portal. Per Academy rules, cadet athletes are eligible to transfer until the start of their junior years.
Air Force’s 2023-24 campaign was its worst full season since 2001, as the Falcons finished 9-22. The Falcons went 2-16 in Mountain West to finish last place in the league.
